I am looking forward to the pup info. Have also thought about adopting an older senior dog too. Maybe from a rescue shelter...

I think the airline antifreeze stuff I've used in the past is made by a company called Berkebile, or something like that. I actually don't like the idea of all that alcohol from the antifreeze sitting in the airbags for all eternity. That's gotta break down the rubber after a while. You might be on to something with the WD40

Yes, the good ole bean line. Strange unloading there, where the pit is room for five to six trucks. The rest of the trucks are a block away in a lot. Communicate by CB when you can come to the north bean dump to unload. Get a ticket in south bean lot to take to pit when you unload. I've spent way too many hours there!!

I'll remember that, I haven't had to put anything in my air lines in so long, can't remember when. Had the electric dump valve freeze up dumped on the drop deck a couple years ago, heated it up very, very carefully with my propane torch and got it thawed.

More arguments today in line at ADM. Different guy today, mouthed off to dad about not pulling up quickly enough, then the next round the same guy got into it with a friend of mine that drives for the elevator here in town. Lucky for motormouth it didn't go any farther than CB talk, I think my friend could more than hold his own. What is it with guys lately? I mean I'm as frustrated with the way things are this year as anybody, but is it really worth creating a scene and making an ### of yourself?

Snow flurried a little today but nothing stuck. Chance of snow Tuesday. At the current pace, I'd say we'll be doing corn for another 2 weeks. Hope we can be done by Christmas.

I'm thinking stress is beginning to affect some people. Some people handle it better than others. I've heard some farmers say on their forum this is the "harvest from hell". I would say the frustration level is on high. Hope you do get done by xmas.

Sunny windy and 39 out. Chance of freezing drizzle tomorrow and maybe a big snow storm on Tuesday. The joys of winter driving.

I will have to remember to have some Howes with me. This fuel gells up so bad if you don't use something. I had a fuel heater two trucks ago and that was nice.

What should I do to the truck and what should I have on board. Thanks

When I was a driver for a liquor distributor I used vodka once,....Lines froze up and I had a hundred cases of vodka on the truck......So I used it,.....

I think that could get very expensive though,...............

Hey, how do you guys like driving Hoppers? I am driving reefer and van right now for a small company. Anyway, I have worked hard for them and they are good to me.
They have a group of drivers that drive hoppers and flatbeds, they seem like a more elite group, and I know they are respected in he company.
They also have some awesomely cool looking rigs too. They have drive the Kenworths and Peterbuilts, where us reefer and van drivers get the freigliners and volvos.
Anyway, they have an opening for a driver and would be willing to teach me and take me on to their team. I have always been interested in flatebedding, know nothing about hoppers. I do think it would be great learning while I have the chance.
Anyway, told them I would think it over and let them know. what do you guys think?

5mouths2feed,.. i am not near as experienced as these other folks, but i do haul a lot of feed to local farmers and small feed mills and i probably use a bag of sand for traction more often than anything,i can't tell you how many times a double handfull of that stuff has got me moving,i like it a little better than cat litter cause if it gets wet it won't mush-up as bad,but thats just me.i agree with wheathauler on the Howes on fuel jelling product.Power Service also makes something called 911 that descent if you have i filter jell up.i have not had as much trouble with fuel jelling as air control valves on trailer, but i don't run every day in the winter like ya'll do,i think the sitting is harder on mine than anything.

    7mouths2feed Thanks this.

the bible says to use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities,i wonder if air line freeze is considered an infirmitie:biggrin_25524:
