Ha ha, I bet that works great as a form of payment!! :biggrin_25519:

I'm about 2 hours west of Decatur. Thankfully, I hardly ever get sent over there. Gotta love those folks that think they know more than you do and then they screw it up.

We loaded at one place that loaded us on the scale and still screwed it up. Then they wanted to be nasty about it. I had to stop for a bit outside the office door to convince myself that dumping the load right there wasn't as good an idea as it sounded in my head.

I don't put up with loaders crapola anymore. Its my butt on the line NOT theirs. They load it my way or we can play and re-load right on the spot.. I had to do that in TX. Told the Mngr I could dump it where they want or I can dump in their parking lot.... either way it was coming off.

All of this of course is why I installed a couple of guages in the dash. Now I can either blow my horn when its close or just drive out from under the shoot... Untested as of yet but I'll keep everyone up to date on how they do for me.

WH .... My DH has been hit and miss. All in all I am happier with the areas that running. East coast hopper loads tend to be cheap. I've been taking in $1400+ after fuel and % payout. Getting my own trailer would certainly increase my income but that will come in time.

What ticks me off is the guys that wont pull the chain to stop the flow after I holler for them to stop. Enough of the guys know they cant bully me by now, and I will dump right on the ground if they gimme #### about it.

I got one guy in particular that loves to play the "driver on/off" scale game. Every time I go in there he will will try and weigh me out opposite of how he weighed me in. How freaking cheap can this guy be ya know? I now purposely "bounce" the scale when rolling on so he cant do it to me before I jump off the truck.

Do you folks run that tight to 80k that the dirver in/out matters? Or are hopper drivers just that "LARGE":biggrin_2559:

:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559: LOL Well some guys are pretty large, although I am not however, weight is weight which is how we get paid. If I am off the truck going in and on the truck coming out then they just stole money from me. :biggrin_25513:
Even if it is only 130lbs.:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:
Also I have a 250lb variance in load vs unload weight. I have had my pay held because I was off by 300lbs. Take my weight (130#) and thats only 120# before questions are raised. That much product can stick to the walls and often its not an option to climb in and completely sweep the walls clean.
Its BS but its the way we have to play the game.

Also over-axle is over-axle and if its not right we have to either dup it or shovel it to scale out.:biggrin_2555::biggrin_25513::biggrin_2553: :biggrin_25525:

I believe we have a 500-600 lb variance. The scales can vary quite a bit between elevators. One in particular it seems is off all the time about 150-200 lbs. 250 lbs is not very much variance.

I do agree in that I'm careful about how they weigh me in and out.

Cold here today. 21 degrees right now...no snow yet. Winter storm warning in northern kansas tomorrow. We are in a winter weather advisory tomorrow. Doesn't sound like much fun tomorrow. Looking at more details along I-70 and north will be the worst hit as of now.

I run 6'4" and about 270 ok ok 280lbs. So yeah, it can add up a bit with my butt on there lol.

I am pretty careful with the 80K thing when I gotta run Interstate. My truck is still only tagged for 80, and the stickers on the door says 80K too. So... that would equal extra fines for me. I just haven't had time to get down to the tag office to up the rate.

I rarely load to 85 ever, but I will fudge some when I think ill get away with it. But, I want to be the one that makes the decision, and not some greedy elevator manager. An extra 5K is only worth an extra $10 or so per load hundred weight or bushel. Not nearly worth it to me.

wheathauler, you keeping busy around Hutch? We just finished cutting some of our late soybeans and some neighbors milo just last week! Son is now looking for a little grain to haul, since I am finally done with him for a few months.
