In HH/OD if I'm within 500lb on a axel the coop master is ok with it.As long as my total weight is correct or under what's on the permit.
I can load the same type machine and if I move it 3" on the deck it will scale different on the axels. None of the cat scales are set up for OW/OD and 8-10 axles

Coadman, glad to hear from you been a while. It's getting slow to dead for me right now. Usually happens when harvest winds down so nothing too unexpected. I increased my radius so I may go out farther this winter if the rate is worth it.

I got an overweight ticket once for 2000 over, fine was $130 and made an extra 2.00 for that 2000 lbs. The extra weight really isn't worth it. Sometimes though not worth the hassle to take it off. I've been to some elevators where you couldn't take it off because of repairs.

Depending on their mood DOT will weigh you here if over 81,000

I'm always close to 80K, sometimes a little on the other side of 80K. Its more a matter of honesty, since you're selling someone's crop with the weights. With corn at $4.00 a bushel, I'm worth about $18.50. With beans at $10.00 a bushel, I'm worth about $43.00.

I haul out of the same few elevators mostly, and I load myself 99% of the time. If its not right, only one person to blame that way.

We had some snow last night, an inch at the most, but brought the corn shelling to a halt temporarily. Some guys got going this afternoon, but not many. Sounds like the weather is going to get interesting tomorrow, I'm hoping most of it stays north.

Called it a day already. Took me two hours from Wichita to Newton. Enough is enough I went back home.

Just throwing this out there. If any of you guys have the ability to move Frack Tanks I know of a small job a cousin of mine is needing some help on. 8 Tanks from Pratt to Great Bend. No idea what he wants to pay (knowing him its cheap lol), or any of the other details. I would "assume" the tanks are destined for the scrap yard... PM me for a name and number if this is up your alley.

Don't blame you! I'm not going anywhere today either...not much happening anyway. Supposed to have strong winds later today so a good day to stay inside.

Raining here right now, could change to snow later. Then nasty wind and cold tomorrow. Nobody that I know of is in the field right now, feel sorry for what corn is left out there, the snow/wind combo could really be bad. Doesn't sound like we're going to be hauling much the next couple days, not that I mind considering the weather.

Kansas, just out of curiosity, what are Frack tanks?

Ok, guys, need your help. Hubby said that he heard on the radio about a gauge that you can install that replaces the "air gauge" in the truck that he watches when loading. He says that it shows the actual weight, and takes the guess work out of loading. In hoppers, we all know how important it is to get every pound on the truck you can. So, I want to get him one for Christmas, but don't know where to go to get it. Also wondering if anyone has one, and is it accurate, or does it work the way its supposed to???

I had a guage in my dash on a 96 pete made by Rite Weigh (I think they changed the name) anyway mine was $69+ installation. It showed the weight on the drives in 500# increments. I weighed a couple of times on CAT scale, the thing was right on. Kept the truck almost 5 yrs and the gauge was accurate the day I sold it. It's a good investment and a great Christmas gift. Try googling Rite Weigh. I'm sure they are more now than what I paid and I believe you can get one that's digital.
