Since they are connected to air bags if it isn't level the weight will be off. I've had that happen in a few places you just have to guess if it is right. Happens a lot at harvest if loading on a dirt road and have to pull off to one side...just try to get it close.

Escaping the cold weather cowdoc? 18 here with a strong north wind. Not a night to be out.
-
The biggest problem I have is the rate at which they load me. The faster the rate the better, if its just dribbling out my weight/gauges will always be off. But, hey, im still the rookie around here and still learning. And yeah, one tire sitting in a hole, and being off camber always equals a weird reading on the gauge.bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
For me the faster they load you the harder to get the weight right. It also depends on how fast they can stop the grain. One elevator said to account for 1500 after they shut it off because of a line that emptied out.

I put mine in the dash since many of the places I have loaded they wanted me in the cab to be able to pull forward or back and some don't want you out of the cab at all.
BHW did you get him just one for the tractor or two/ tractor and trailerr? I used compression connectors for cost and I trust them more than the quick cionnects. If you use compression connectors be sure to get the inserts to go in the end of the line. The ferrel can twist and /or compress so much it will crimp the line especially the 1/4" tubing. I learned about the inserts when I hooked up an ice maker and only got half cubes of ice..Hmmmmmm?????? LOL -
Somewhere I saw that they make a set of gauges that are tied into a doohickie that sends a signal to a hand held thingamabob so yous could be on the dock and see what your weight is as the loader is loading it,....
I can't remember where I saw that,..But I know I saw it somewhere!!,.... -
I'm leaving the install up to the mechanic. LOL

Wheathauler it's pretty cold here too. 30 this morning with 25-30 mph wind. I've just been servicing the trucks this week. Fixing everything that piled up during harvest. Yesterday the bosses surprised me and bought 4 steers. Got 1 more I think they're gonna spring for em on. They were ok on tread but the gravel roads had ate on em pretty good. Hauled a few beans off this week. We still like about 250 acres. Sold rice last week so as soon as we can get it dry we'll start hauling out. Everybody try to stay warm, have a good day and keep it up on the road. This wind is tough.

Hubby is headed to Dumas this morning. He's staying south till the wind quits up here. So you all are getting pretty good gusts too, huh Cowdoc?
-
Yep it's died down some. Bout daybreak I thought it was gonna be a rough day.
