I saw what you're talking about in a issue of Overdrive. They had a ad in it.

    It's 6 here with a wind.

That's not a bad idea! Say did your husband get his truck all fixed up? Maybe you said and I missed it.

Kind of....... the bumper that they ordered and put on the truck is hokey, still fighting over that issue, but the insurance adjuster isn't happy with it either. We will never use that shop again. AND don't ever let a shop order a universal bumper for your truck. The results are very crappy. I found the right bumper in about 5 minutes of searching google, they were just too freaking lazy to even try. Grrrrrr

Bumper not straight, hood not straight, and a few other minor problems, but working on the solution is becoming very time consuming.

See the washers???? Yeah, they didn't even try to make brackets for the bumper, just used the old ones and about $5 worth of washers on each side of the truck.

I'll have to admit the washers don't look too good...could have at least put a spacer in there. Looks like two monkeys with a wrench could of done as good. Hopefully you get it all resolved, good luck.

I think that I'm more pissed about this than hubby is, but it really ticks me off when people half Arse things and charge what they do. LOL

thats just PITYFULL!!! geeez, anybody that actually charges for that bracket installation should be ashamed! plus it looks like you could blow smoke thru the bumper, its so thin, look at the hole in the bottom and you can tell how thin it is!sad!:biggrin_25513:stay on e'm till they make it right, bullhaulerswife!

Oh, I have more pictures, but I get really mad when I look at them, because only one year prior, the truck was pristine! AND we paid for that out of our pocket.

I'm not letting this go, not by a long shot. The guy that I spoke to about the actual replacement bumper, said that you have to build custom brackets to get that bumper to fit right, and they have already drilled the holes, so its too late. Plus, like you pointed out, its like tin foil on the front of the truck. No substance to that bumper at all!

wheathauler,.. did you get a lot of snow? the wind is really kickin up here today,40-50mph gust, but at least we missed all the snow. have you heard any reports on how much damage the storm did to standing crops around the country yet? i feel really bad for folks that aren't done with harvest,i wonder how RW and folks in his area faired with the snow and wind? bad time for a blizzard, huh, what a weird harvest this has been:biggrin_25513: hope every one stays safe.

I've done that to myself before, forgot the tarp was still shut. Its amazing how much corn can run out while your brain is thinking, "That's strange, I don't hear the corn hitting the bottom of the trailer......OH S>>>!!!" Tarps don't roll very well with corn on top of them.:biggrin_25512:

My tractor gauge is in the dash, makes it really nice with bad weather and a slow auger, don't have to keep getting out to see when you need to pull up, just sit inside and read a book and glance at the gauge.

I've seen that before too, we might have even talked about it a long time ago on this thread. Looked like a genius idea.

Keep after them, they owe you to make it right, especially since it wasn't even your hubby's fault to begin with.

We got rain most of the day yesterday, the snow stayed north of us, we just got a dusting. Wind blowing like crazy though, its about 17 here now, supposed to get to 5 tonight. Don't know of any combines running today, I'm wondering if they might try it tomorrow, the frozen ground should help. If the corn is still standing?

He's probably more worried about making money. I'm guessing after this storm Lyons is going to be busy with road salt.

Got 2 inches here. Son in western kansas got a foot of snow. Harvest mostly done here so shouldn't have hurt anything. Luckily the wind didn't come with the snow it came after...still drifted some. Supposed to get to -5 for low tonight.
