No problem. You at least realize trucking is tough right now. Some of these guys just don't believe it and get right in. I was talking to cornhusker dealer in Wichita today and he said hopper trailers were selling well. It's hard to figure out who's buying these hoppers when the rates are low. The only thing I can figure out is they have no idea what they need to make per mile.

Big John and Rusty50484 Thank this.

My uncle (farmer) just traded his Timpte for a new one. They gave him $2k more on trade than he paid 3 years ago (same dealer). Didn't need a new one (only uses it for personal use, not to cut rates) but when it's depreciated out and they offer you more than you paid originally with the original brakes/tires you'd be a fool not to take it. I guess some guys would keep it just to say it's paid for so they feel they're making more money. Then turn around an buy tires, brakes and a tarp.:biggrin_2559:

Their has been four local guys that just bought new hoppers in the last two months because they gave them the same or more for their used hopper then what they originaly paid for it.

I hadn't thought about the depreciation aspect or offering good deals on trade ins.
