Sadly that could be true. I do think having your own trailer is the only way to make money. Unless they don't charge for a trailer which happens in rare cases. I would hate to think what I would be making paying trailer rent or a % of a load.

Some of the bigger outfits here take % of load for trailer and dispatch. They're making money on the trailer %.

Eaglerock Trailers, Inc. was founded by Travis Cole McWilliams on July 22, 2002 with manufacturing and sales based in Houston, Texas. Mr. McWilliams comes from a family with ties to the manufacturing of Aluminum dump trailers as far back as the early 1960's. Travis' grandfather, Arthur Cole Benninger , was the founder of Ti-Brook Trailers which was started in the 1960's. The name, Ti-Brook stands for the town of Tionesta where Mr. Benninger lived at that time, and, the town Brookville where the manufacturing plant was located and still is to this day.

Travis McWilliams' father started a trailer company in the mid-1970's and named it after Travis. The company was called Travis Body and Trailer, Inc. Travis' Uncle was brought into the company as one of the Engineers by his father. After some time, Travis' uncle left the company and started Mate Trailers. Not long after Travis' uncle started his own company, Travis' father opened another in which he named C.M.C. Trailers, Inc.

This time the company's name stood for Cliff, Melissa and Connie. These were the other three family members that had not been honored with a company named after them as Travis had. Some time later, C.M.C. Trailers, Inc. filed bankruptcy and Travis' father helped opened another Travis' Body and Trailer, in which he was President. This company is located on the majority of the land that the old company C.M.C. had occupied. The next business started by Travis' father was with A.B. Brewer which they called C.M.C. Dump Trailers, Inc. and would later change that name to Vantage Trailers, Inc. It is very easy to see that Travis McWilliams was raised in the aluminum trailer manufacturing world, and he owes all the credit to his grandfather, Arthur Cole Benninger for starting the family in the aluminum trailer manufacturing business.

While Travis worked 60-70 hours a week to pay his way through college at Texas A & M , which was not an easy task, he learned how to work hard, set goals and conquer hurdles. After graduating from Texas A & M with a Bachelors Degree in Ag. Business, Travis declined a prestigious job offer with one of the largest privately owned companies in the world, Cargill, to go pursue a career in the family aluminum trailer manufacturing business. Both Travis and his father were responsible for the tremendous growth of this company in a very short period of time. Travis was responsible for them being able to market both aluminum dump trailers and pneumatic tanks. He also grew the branch and dealers networks with this same company. The companies restructuring of how their trailers were financed, was also spearheaded by Travis. The biggest accomplishment in Travis' mind was when he moved from being the #2 salesperson behind his father, to surpassing his father in sales and became the #1 salesperson for the company in 2000.

Travis had a desire, just like his Grandfather, Father and Uncle, he would have his own company. That desire was realized for Travis on July 22, 2002, when Eaglerock Trailers, Inc. was founded. In the past four years, Travis has been able to grow his company at an amazing rate of 100% growth per year. Eaglerock Trailers, Inc. is now a strong and secure competitor in the aluminum dump trailer manufacturing world.
Even though Travis Cole McWilliams was only 34 years old when he founded Eaglerock Trailers, Inc., he has immense knowledge of the industry. Travis gives all his existences and natural ability to God. Travis feels that it is very important for a person to do what you say you are going to do, or do not bother to say it. He believes that if you help people get what they want, then he will get what he wants.

The number one goal of Eaglerock Trailers, Inc. is to furnish a product that contains three important components, Quality, Service and Low Price. Most every product on the market is only made up of just two of these three. Travis feels he has reached his goal with providing the Eaglerock Trailer which has, Quality and Service, without the high price. Customers can take the money they saved, by buying my trailer instead of my competitions trailer, and invest it, or buy more chrome for their trucks. Travis McWilliams has been associated with most of the major aluminum dump trailer manufacturing companies in the United States. He has gained vast knowledge in all aspects of trailer manufacturing from sales, design and customer relationships. Travis is fully committed to manufacture a trailer that will give the customer a high quality product at an affordable price, and, stand behind the product after the sale.

Eaglerock Trailers, Inc. in an effort to better service their customers, has opened a Sales and Service facility located in Justin, Texas. They are in the midst of building a strong dealer network. Eaglerock Trailers, Inc. has now moved into their new 18,000 square foot manufacturing building. This facility sits on 15 acres, which will provide them with plenty of room for their future growth to fulfill the rising demands for their trailers.

Interesting article Luis. I'm showing my age again but when I pulled dumps it was a Fruehauf. I'm not sure what the best dump trailer is now.

There are still people pulling those fruehauf. But it all comes down to the company's mentioned in the article down here in south tx. They build lightweight trailers. A friend of ours can load 28 tons of sand in his vantage and he's got a flattop pete.

Around here the majority of the dump trailers are spread axle. When I first started they didn't have spread or air ride dumps. 28 tons is a darn good payload.

I hope we have a good and profitable year too. I was feeling better yesterday about trucking until I bought fuel yesterday...the price jumped 13 cents. 2.79 here...your fuel is cheaper I'll bet Big John.

Ours is 2.89 in town, hasn't changed since about October.

Only reason I'm driving truck is to wore out to do construction any more. I'm an architectural millwork carpenter by trade, but, after all the injuries just can't do it any more. Here's a picture of some of my work.

No spread but would look cool. My dad keeps talking when everything gets good he wants a Columbia i told him remember when we had the shaker i never aired my seat up didn't want anyone seeing me. But with this t6 and a vantage 37x102 we can probably load it with 27 or 26 tons. We'll see in the coming years.

Do they even give much milk when it's this cold? Seems like would be using a lot of energy just to stay warm. Milking cows wouldn't be high on my list for things to do on a cold night.
