Luckily my truck is arctic spec'ed. Normally has to much heat even in the teens. and this was by fate.

I must have missed something. Does your hubby not have heat? Rather bad timing. Is there a place in Iowa that's ADM that's a pain in the you know what. On load boards they say it's not ADM coming out of there.

Yeah, they are bad. Mud hill sucks, you sit for hours. The guards are nasty to you, don't care how long they hold you up, and then, where you load, you barely have room to get to the chute, because of turns and rail cars.

Bad doesn't describe it. :biggrin_25526: More like torture. You must move ahead, so don't sleep for 19 hours, watch your spot in line, and turn the CB to channel 15 and wait for the guard gods to call your truck. :biggrin_25510:

Sad thing is, the loads pay pretty decent. :biggrin_25511:

I'm not sure, I haven't really heard anything. There's an ADM bean processing plant 50 miles west of me in Quincy, but I haven't hauled anything over there in months.

Sounds a little like bean dump in Wichita...except the truckers tell each other when they can come to north dump. We are unloading there though so that's easier.

We've loaded there, its not as bad, by any means. In Clinton, you get to deal with the jerks at the plant, and the DOT loves to sit on the main road going to the plant with the portables. You have to watch yourself there. The TS there is a dive, and only has 15 or so parking spots. Stay out of the showers, they will make you gag.

There are only two places he goes, really that we label the Heck Holes. ADM - Clinton and Tyson - Southwest City. Guaranteed wait time close to 24 hours, and guards that think they are all that. :biggrin_25526:

Clinton, Iowa thats the city they said it wasn't ADM. It obviously has a bad reputation. 24 hours all the time that is bad...makes bean line look somewhat better. What do they haul out of there?
