SCOOP SHOVEL![]()
Got shut down in Wilcot was headed for I80 then up 35 to MN. High winds, blowing snow and ice on the roads. I opted not to chance it and waited til Friday to roll. Wind wasa my main concern having heard about so many trucks getting blown of the road. That fubar caused me to be sitting in Albert Lea, MN till monday morn. At least the wife is with me![]()

BTW - on the IFTA topic - as far as I know you don't need to file in order to receive your 2010 stickers and cab card. I just got those in the mail, even though I haven't filed. Turns out I need some records in order to file my IFTA and haven't heard back from the person that has them........
Anyone know what to do to file IFTA, if you have no fuel receipts or trip records for the last 25,000 miles?? Hopefully I can file an extension and come up with something. -
In Kansas you could get your IFTA until Dec 31 after that had to file 4th quarter IFTA before you could get the decals. There might be penalty for not filing or revoke IFTA. They may have extension I don't know I've never been in that situation.

Sitting in Franklin, KY tonight and it is 11 degrees out and that is to cold for me. I have to unload my rice bran in the morning but I am hoping Dairyman will head this way and buy my breakfast at the J.
It has been one hell of a week and at the end of the day Friday I was thinking about pulling a dry van for a living. I loaded tire chips which were wet in Houston and took them to Crossett, AR. When I went to dump about 5,000lbs came out and that was it so I sit in the parking lot with the tarp open till 2:30pm and then went back and all of it came out except for 4,000lbs which was like cement so I found a tank washout and repair shop that let me use a heated bay for a couple hours and then it all came out, what a non profit day. I just hope my rice bran comes off in the AM. Gotta love the job, haulin bulk in the winter. -
Not this trip but next will put a step or folding ladder on the list. -

That really sucks! PharmPhail had the same problem with a load of coal earlier in the week, but the washout had no room for him to sit. Finally just had to chip his way in through the ice above the hopper doors. I hope the rest of the week went better for him, it sounded like that really screwed things up.
I couldn't get out of the driveway here at the house if I tried - it's a frozen mess. From the looks of the news lately, apparently most of Georgia is doing nothing about the roads - drivers beware!
News crews have been finding frozen streets and just camping out all day to record accidents. One street down near Atlanta had an ambulance slide out and crash while responding to a call, then the EMT supervisor crashed trying to get to the accident scene to investigate. I'm staying put!
Hope you all stay safe out there! -
