That's not good. I'm not sure would want to pull that old of trailer OTR....unless it looked unusually nice. They should of told you before you even left unless they thought the new ones would be in.
Timpte and Cornhusker both have factories in Neb. Don't know whether they lease trailers or not.

If its the same wilson I pulled then it has a BIG dent on the side just behind the mid-light. If you take it make sure they give you a replacment set of roller straps. It has a single speed trapcrank and if you carry something with high weight low volume like road salt, limstone or coal the straps will stretch first. Also your gonna need to carry a couple of ratchet straps to help open the doors rather than risk busting those crank straps. Another thing, the rear ratchet catch on the crank is bent so if your not careful the darn thing will spring the crank handle back at you. She pulled fine and I can't say that there was any noticable difference in weight from the 2010 Timpte. What will stink is if you have to DH back to Beatrice and then bobtail to David City to get a new one in just a few weeks. David City is where I picked up this one. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

Thanks ... Kinda set me back hearing 5mouths2feed actually spoken. I couldn't imagine someone having that as a handle on the CB. LOL

Looks like I will be pulling my own wagon by next week.

Where did you find the trailer? Way to go. Is 45 Ft. hopper common? It sounds longer than most.
New Home,New Trailer. Sounds like things are making a turn for the better. GOOD FOR YOU. I am happy for you and your crew.

Truckpaper... its in WI... Typically newer hoppers are 42-43ft, spreads are usually 46+ No divider, 4 doors so its oldschool like me. LOL Will need a new tarp before long but with the savings on the lease that should not be a problem..:biggrin_25514::yes2557: $12k:yes2557::biggrin_25514:

I sure hope this is a great new leaf being turned. We sure need it. At least everthing in the works (house, own trailer) are what I consider to be forward movement for the business and family.

Leaving for Jonesboro, AR then up to Cedar Vale, KS WIll update later. Be Safe all.

I didn't even know they made them without a divider. That might be handy if you have to get inside to sweep it out, just hop right over to the rear. Or would be very handy when a farmer wants to do a split load, "Sorry, its all one compartment." Glad to hear you're making progress with things, 5mouths, good luck with everything.

I don't blame you one bit. I think key word there is "rental" in my experience rental ='s neglect. My first few days/weeks with my rental trailer were spent fixing all those little things that had been neglected over the years. The zerks all pulled out when I tried to grease the trailer. Even after re-tapping and replacing I still couldn't get the traps bushings to accept grease. Not the mention trying to grease up the brake components. It literally took weeks to get that thing in decent shape.

Going from a 98' model trailer to an 08 model has been a real treat. I think my shoulder is even starting to heal from all that heavy duty cranking

I don't know how much national pub this got but the first 9 LL rice test cases were ruled on last week. One of them was a farmer from here. He was awarded $480,000 on roughly 2000 acres. All 9 cases were decided in favor of the farmers. They're lining up around here to get at it. Gonna be alot of money coming here unless Bayer finagles out of it. Reckon any will filter down to the little people?
