We've had a couple weeks of almost no hauling at all, and finally, when they're ready to lay down the base on this highway project... we're under the Cloud of Damocles for about another week. *sigh*

I think they're gonna pour anyway tomorrow.

(by the way, this is a highway construction project. I'm hauling cement for the contractors)

I share your pain. Stupid thing is before all this rain we had two or three weeks of near 100 and strong south winds. We needed rain just not 7-8 inches of it. It's 77 and cloudy out now pretty unusual for July in Kansas.

If you Google "2290 Comdata," you'll find a page where you can file the 2290 directly through the website and there is also an FAQ section for more information. Hope this is helpful!

Sure glad it's Friday. Went to haul some screenings for seed company. Using my electric tarp and bang a bracket on the motor breaks. Tarp closed but had no way of opening it. I went to elevator and very slowly unloaded the wheat. Then went 50 miles to dealer to see about getting it fixed.

Thought it should be on warranty, they didn't know, have to talk to shurco could take a while. They don't even have the part in stock so would take days to get here. Farmer friend and I worked on it awhile and got it where I can manually open and close tarp. I'm just about ready to go back to manual but may wait a while.

    *Noob alert*

I've been trying to catch up on this thread, but man, 430 pages! *lol* I tried using the search some, but I keep coming back to this thread! Tried to send a PM to a few of you and found out I hadn't officially made the team yet and couldn't do it! *lol*

FWIW, I did an intro in "The Welcome Wagon". Basically what I'm trying to do is get some info from some of you hopper guys. Are there any websites or forums more specifically targeted to Ag commodities haulers? Maybe a listing of Ag brokers or haulers that broker loads somewhere?

Any help at all will be appreciated!

    Thanks!

Forums more specifically targeted to Ag Commodities haulers....hmmm. There are a few loadboards for hoppers but they tend to be the cheaper loads on there. Usually the best loads never make it to a load board.

If you have a question ask on this thread. There are quite a few hoppper truckers here. They also haul many different commodities in a hopper. Need more detailed answers ask one us here to PM you, I see dairyman already has. Get 50 posts and you can PM us.

That happened two weeks ago to one of my co-workers. Motor just quit working, thankfully it was covered under warranty. While having that fixed they had the electric hopper door motor thingies installed that shurco sells. They are kinda neat to play with, but just a tad slow running imo.

The electric tarp is fairly slow too. I can replace the bracket by replacing a piece of front arm. Cost would be be $72 plus labor but still think should be on warranty. Shurco doesn't pay for labor so that will cost me too. Hopefully hear from Sanders soon but parts guy isn't very good IMO. I like the electric tarp but like everything else breaks down.

What is the deal with two tarps on some hoppers? I have seen a couple hoppers running around in Arkansas that had two tarp handles on the back, drivers didn't have their radio on to answer my call. And no I was not drinking at the time.
