I'm with you on doing the math. I think the elevators really blew it on emptying the elevators this year. They really hate it when new crop comes in and the old is still going out. They've been sending old corn to feedlots in SW Kansas and back hauling wheat to same elevator.. Doesn't seem like they are gaining much on space, except they rail the wheat out.
The elevator in Minneola, KS is gabbing wheat in those big silage bags...gonna be fun when they decide to haul it out!
I would say fun to haul out. I never knew they stored wheat in those bags. I would think either use auger or front end loader to load.
Some elevators really blew it on having enough space for wheat up here in the pierre south dakota area, there were hauling corn out which hindered us bringing corn atleast added 20 to 30 minutes on the time I was there and one elevator brought sunflowers in and sent them out the next day I give them a D on the grade
Dumped a load of ddg this morning that was loaded warm friday, won't be doing that again,it took from 5:30 am till about 10:20am,just got done and i'm whipped, soak and wet,and feel like i just loaded 1000 bales of alfalfa behind the square baler. At least the farmer let me start good and early before it gets really hot, forcast is for 95 degrees today! Everyone drink plenty of water out there today and stay safe
Yeah dairyman I've got a load of Soybean Meal on from Friday that can't be delivered until Wednesday...that one is gonna be a PAIN!!!
7 guys + my hubby are digging out DDG from the trlr right now. We loaded Friday too. We started unloading at 10am. Man this sucks.
Well, they kicked us off the pit. 27,500lbs still in the back and its hard as a brick. Nice, there goes the great loads we had lined up for the rest of the week.
Never hauled DDG myself (odd, right?) but I've been wondering if a blow gun would help? I'm working on a list of tools to add to my trailer, and an extra air tank and blow gun is way up there on top of it. Makes a huge difference with wheat midds and soy hulls, of course those are dry prods too. Great for "sweeping out" with little work involved. Anyway - that just sucks! I'd say it's time someone came up with a better way to unload this stuff before people stop hauling it.
Can't unload till Wed.? Good Luck to ya,thats a long time to settle, hope it wasn't too bad humid when you loaded, highside. Sorry to hear about ya'll's bad luck getti'n kicked off the pit BHW,maybe your next load that you got lined up will still be there for ya.Tell your hubby i 'feel' his pain.POKE,KICK,BEAT,BANG AND TO BEAT IT ALL, I'M TRYING MY BEST TO QUIT CUSSING THIS WEEK DYNOMITE OR C-4
