Hauled 3 loads of beans so far this week to Owensboro Grain and today and monday the lines were like harvest lines:biggrin_2556:,Debruce filled up by 2:00 today so they sent the rest of the trucks to O.G. just about the time the leg that unloads the small pit broke down, and a lot of the guys didn't know where the back of the line started at O.G. so folks were getti'n a tad testy because of all the line cutt'n,i thought me and Molly wus gona get to see a good butt kick'n:yes2557:

Enjoyed our meeting last week Big John. Always nice to meet the person behind our forum names. Got around 4 inches of snow last night and is going to be very cold this week. I'll take at least today off not worth getting out in snow for what they're paying.

    Big John Thanks this.

Hauled to ethanol plant yesterday finally increased the rate. Uneventful day except for power going out, hazmat crew cleaning stuff up. Guess they had a fermation (sp) tank leak and hazmat company was out cleaning it up. I'll bet that cost them some money.

That power outage must have been a lot bigger than I thought. It hit us 50 miles east of KC.

Had a broker call and ask me to haul corn for .42 today from a farmer that i've been hauling for over the last 3 years (thru my own personal contact) , so i called the farmer up myself and ask him if he was ready to move his Jan. corn. The farmer said,''sure am,can you help me out again this year?'' I said ''well,i'm at .60 from your neck of the woods right now, with fuel like it is". Farmer said, when can ya start? Remember now,the broker called me,and i have hauled for this farmer a lot in the past on my own,so i'm not being un-ethical when i called up the farmer.

Now folks,i completly understand that brokers need to make a living just like all the rest of us,and i use brokers just as much as the next feller, and appreciate the fact that they have to feed their families just like me,and some of 'em work hard to find me a load when i need it,so i don't want to sound like i'm some ''broker hater'', but thats just ridiculous, dang near a third:biggrin_25513:. It just goes to show though,we had better know what it takes to turn a profit, because if we don't,they won't do it for us! Sorry for the rant, now back to our regularly scheduled program:biggrin_2559:

Dairyman I'm definitely a Bears fan this week. Saints were just too beat up + on the road. If Hartley would have just made that 29 yarder against the Falcons we would've got the bye. Oh well there's always a whatif.
