Must be Monday, took load to feedlot and load was rejected. Spent next three hours finding place to take it. They wanted me to try another load I politely declined.

Storm heading in supposed to have 4-6 inches of snow and very cold temps.

They are calling for a lot of snow down here, I didn't make it to Wichita today and I am planning to go tomorrow but can't leave to after lunch and I think the storm will be here by then. I will probably hibernate until Thursday or Friday and then go.

Storm is here. Dropped from 11 degrees to 9 and it's snowing. Doesn't look like a good day at all.

Getting hammered by the snow. Creeping up on the foot mark probably 8-9 by now and still snowing. So much for working this week. I'm sure not going back to feedlots, don't want to even think how muddy they will be, when it warms up Friday.

I think the snow is supposed to stay south of us this time, no forecasts have said anything about it here.

What do feedlots reject loads based on?

Foreign material mainly but test weight and moisture. Some feedlots are pickier than others. Then again some elevators don't take care of their grain.

I was just curious, getting loads docked is common, but out and out rejected is fairly rare for me. I haul a lot of the same stuff to the same places, so they can usually detect a problem and tell the shipper not to bring any more of that stuff back until it straightens up.

Geez, I just went to get smokes and the cold has killed the batteries on both my truck and my caddy. I took my sister's car and while it's not really slick, I still can't feel my fingers.
