I pulled hoppers last yr., whats the difference between ag hoppers & the ones you wanted? just wondering.
Ag hopper traps are higher up and they are shallower. I ran a Jet trailer for a while and the probe seemed to always hit near bottom of hopper.
Ag hoppers kill the capacity, you have to order at least one or two sizes taller sides (or 102" wide) to make up for the difference.
Yes, he's in his recliner right now. LOL I have pictures to upload that he took, I'll share them as soon as I get them uploaded to photobucket. Thanks for asking!
This is in AR between Conway and Little Rock. This is several hours after they reopened the roads. His avg speed was about 25-30 though there.
Sorry because I know that this has probably been asked many times in this thread but just not dedicated enough to read thru the 519 pages. I just got my own rig and doing OTR with dry van but have contract with the farmer I worked for to haul corn and beans during harvest. He is buying the hopper but I will have unlimited use of it for a small fee. It will likely be a only 66" as any taller we would have issues with our auger wagon. Can I make any decent money in the off season pulling hoppers? I have looked at some of the boards but rates seem low. Also, elevators in Central IL during the season are paying by the bushel based on the mileage or hourly. What have you seen being the best way to go.
