Those are some old pictures. I noticed the tarps were before roll over tarps. I remember having to put them on windy days and they were a pain. Cinched up the sides then did some fancy bungy tarping on the back of the trailer.

    Big John Thanks this.

I haul it in my hopper all the time, just part of the job as an ingredient hauler...Most of the dairys do all the work, so it's not that bad, just a little time consuming.

Thanks for the old pics, Big John. A few sweet looking W-9's in there, but I want to keep my tubeless tires and shur-lok tarp.

    Big John Thanks this.

I'd hauled cotton seed a few times and had to turn it down because the rates were getting to be a bad joke (last offer was $1.20 something a mile). While I'm no stranger to a hard days work, that stuff got old fast!

The rope trick sounds alot better and I wish I'd known about it then, the best I could come up with was digging up into the trap with a shovel and then using a piece of pipe to jam a hole through from the top......

There are worse hauls than cotton seed, like barley :biggrin_25523: - stuff will dust up and stick to you like fiberglass! The only part of hauling cotton seed I enjoyed was where it was usually headed, the middle of nowhere. If I remember right, the last load Pharm and I hauled together went to Wisconsin and he slept through the whole unload :biggrin_25517:. We barely got it loaded the day it had to go (given the wrong gin location and were the last truck at the end of the day. Stuff was so green you could see it, and it stuck like cotton balls.

The folks at the co-op we delivered to pulled the grate off the auger pit and one of the guys tied himself off and jumped into the trailer to move the stuff. You wouldn't catch me doing that at gunpoint, and it was #### hard to watch...... :biggrin_2551:
