People really should check their mirrors BEFORE they start to back up...

That sucks and expensive, did he speak English and have insurance?

I seen that at a feedlot in western Kansas years ago, driver never looked just backed up right into another truck and it was the same company. I would have hated to make that phone call.

It feels great Bill I haven't even put any bedding in my truck yet, lol. I have been first in line of a morning and keep that door closed, take my lunch with me and keep a movin on. You got to get it while it's their and when ADM is only open 8 to 4 you can't stop and eat at the cafe or play the pinball machine. ADM is almost full here and is having a hard time getting rail cars so we are going to be slow next week. It looks like I will be hauling corn to the feedlot and wheat back into town, one round a day for awhile.

What do you guys use for an invoice and do you have a copy you can post. I have to send in a invoice all long with my tickets and I was trying to come up with one and the ones that I have found are not trucking related.

Even worse Big John...it was a FARMER!!! (OK they're not that bad, considering I used to be one, and without them, we'd all be out on the soup line!)

He was pretty apologetic. Wanted to pay cash to keep his insurance out of the equation, I told him he might want to get the estimate before he decides. Thankfully it just got the grill and grill crown - the hood didn't buckle or get pushed into the cowl. Parts alone add up to $1,750.

Hope he got a good price for his load of grain he brought to town. He'll learn Peterbilt's aren't cheap to fix!

Are you wanting something you can use on the computer, or a blank invoice to write all the information longhand on? We use a two piece carbonless printed invoice from a local print shop. That way, we have a carbon copy to retain for recordkeeping.

If you're looking for something on the computer, I could whip up a simple spreadsheet for you that you could input the numbers into, then print it off. You could even get it to do the calculations for you. But you'll have to give me some time to do it.

    Big John Thanks this.

Yeah, at least it didn't ruin the hood and radiator and you can still drive it. Hard to believe $1750 is only about 250 bu of corn at today's prices.

Fuel hit $3.94 in town today....:biggrin_25513::biggrin_25510:
