I spied me a Big John today. He had his K-Whopper shining like it was brand new, and was waiting to load some grain that was probably paying $4.00 or $5.00 per mile :) I was trying to get my wheat delivered before the cutoff time at the mill in Arkansas City, otherwise I would have stopped and rattled his cage!

Yeah, mine was eating antifreeze, wasn't leaking or in the oil though. The garage here in town replaced the headgaskets and went through the heads, ground the valves, new guides, etc. while they were off. They also changed the waterpump and some other small stuff while it was tore apart. It cured the antifreeze problem. They tried changing the intake manifold gasket first since it was the cheapest fix, there's a place antifreeze can get into the cylinder through it, but it didn't work. Its a '91 Ford with a 302. I've spent enough money on this old truck, I'm married to it until the wheels fall off, but its still in decent shape.

Yeah, we're up to $3.98 here.

So does that mean I'm kicked out of the hopper thread? :biggrin_2554:

Oh, wait, I'm a mod, you can't kick me out. :biggrin_25522:

Talk about washed, waxed and polished. That flattop Pete pulling a spread axle hopper was sure clean and shiney. Makes me sure miss mine, lol.

No $4 to $5 mile stuff but I had a good day that started at 4AM, have to get up early so you can be first in line.

Good to see you and that shiney ride Bill, one of these days we will meet up and say hi.

Talk about having my head up my rear today. I just got loaded and grossed out at #89,000 and was cruising and talking on the phone when I look up the road and have a black and white coming at me, look at the dash and I am running around 75 in a 65 so I hit the jakes and he turned the lights on. I always have the cruise on and never ever go over 70 but today I wasn't paying attention. He walks up and knocks on the side of my trailer then looks at the tag on my truck, I am laughing and telling him that I had my head up my rear and he never ask for my scale ticket just the normal questions and gives me a warning. Talk about lucky.

They have been cracking down on guys using farm tags and hauling for hire and I have a commercial Oklahoma tag. The Instate Commercial tag and the farm tag look the same except they state on the bottom Farm Truck or Commercial Truck.

You need to get your eyes checked! If you would have looked closely you would have seen that flat top and spread axle trailer were DIRTY!!

Well that is if I am going to the feed lot which is about 65 miles away and they start at 6:30. If I am unloading here in town I might park at the elevator which starts at 8 and then leave my car their. The elevator closes at 4 so you have to get in as much as you can. Yesterday I took a load of corn down and was unloaded and reloaded and back up by 10 then hauled three more wheat loads that were 66 mile round trip. I might have got one more in but their is a lot of Kansas trucks come down to ADM with corn and we all dump in the same pit so each time they have to switch back and forth and that takes time.
