Bill, you have all Timpte's or do you have some Wilson's in the fleet and if you do how are they holding up?

My 2006 Timpte had the aluminum subframe option, had over 600,000 miles on it when I traded it last July 29. No cracks or other problems. My 2011 has the aluminum subframe and the aluminum pickup plate(43'X78"X96"). 8300# on wide base singles. I've got 65000 miles on it so far with no issues. Time will tell, but with the 3 year warranty and the customer service I receive in Council Bluffs, I'm not worried. Just my $.02...

We've got 1 Wilson that we own. It's an '06. The only complaint we have about it is that the paint on the frame sucks big time. Other than that it's a good trailer. The oldest trailer in the fleet is a '97. We used to own it but sold it to the O/O you saw pulling it John. He's since painted it, and it looks petty good. As far as how well it's holding up: That trailer has never given us a single problem. Ever. The O/O that owns it has enjoyed the same luck with it. Bear in mind it's almost 1000 lbs heavier than a new one, so that longevity comes with a price.

I'll 2nd what highside said about the older Wilson trailers - they are stout as a
Out of the 3 hoppers I pulled, I liked the 2 Wilson's (both late 90's models) and the Timpte took a very close 3rd.
Just stopping in to say hello to everyone, and wish you guys the best out there. -

We are adding a second hooper for harvest this year that I will pull. The farmer that I will be contracted with is going to be buying the trailer. He has a '92 Wilson now that we just had major work done to and he is likely going to buy another older trailer - not air ride - because of the cost. What I would like to do is rent a trailer this season while I am exploring the option of pulling the hopper on a regular basis during the year. But would not want to be over the road with what he is looking at.
We are out of Central IL. Do you know of any companies that rent hoppers for the season?
Also, what type of per mile rates do you see for off-season work. -
I don't know what IL. off season rates are but if they're like here, they're low. Fuel at $3.99 at one place today.

Trailer rental payments on hoppers are high I looked into it and it was a lot cheaper to buy. Some have bought hoppers on a lease purchase, two payments up front then monthly from their. I talked to one guy and his payment was $800 a month on one of those programs. The rentals I looked into was around $1200 a month.
