They just don't know what a butt full of rock salt feels like. Get the scattergun and enlighten them.

It's not a bad idea but wouldn't work in todays society. They would have lawyers and cops after you now days. I actually got a few swats at school with a board. This would never happen in a school now.

Yup, and they took all the power away from parents. You paddle your kid in the store now days, you'd better be expecting the cops to show up. Sad to, because with some kids, its how they learn. Right then and there, not later when you get home. Especially younger kids. They don't process the taking toys away thing, or time out thing well enough to connect it to what they did an hour ago in the store.

I had a really wise lady tell me once that god put the instinct in us when to paddle. She said she had never paddled her daughter until she had run out in traffic. Said after she had paddled her for that, she never went near the street again. :yes2557: That child learned, because the discipline was immediate.

I recently had two quotes both around the $1.45 loaded mile range. They obviously think we don't need money since fuel dropped 20 cents last few weeks. I guess there is still too many hoppers around.

Too many trucks and not enough work...it's probably going to stay like this until harvest - if there is one.

You guys get any rain in Kansas? We had some lite flooding due to the city not keeping the ditches clean. The shop I have is down town next to the creek and what a mess. The doors are sealed good so the only water that got in was around the walk in door but a lot of debris including junk car tires and just crap all over the parking area. It came down fast and had about a foot and half of water. I found one old white wall car tire that washed ashore if anyone needs it. lol

I had a real good week and next week looks dead, so Monday morning I will be on the phone seeing what comes up. Maybe go on vacation, get on the bike and make a trip to Kansas in search of big shiney large cars. I could start in Anthony then up to Goddard for the "Elite Peterbilt Bulk Hauling Fleet" and then up to Hutch to see a true proffesional. :biggrin_2559:

I paid $3.60 a gallon at the Ampride in Meno, OK today, that is the cheapest I have seen it.

Speaking of trucks and hoppers. I was sitting here thinking about some fleets that have come and gone that I use to run with or seen around back 15 or 20 years ago. There was one that was called Phil Blocker from Kansas that seem to haul a lot of mids and other things, I haven't seen his name on a truck in years. Then their was Briggs from Emporia are they still around? There were others but trying to remember the names

I got about .50 but folks north of us got a whole lot more.

Blocker went under years back. It seems once a hopper outfit gets to 30 or so trucks they either get bigger or go under. I don't know which way sun valley will go. They have been moving that big pile of wheat at ADM this week.

Glad to hear ya'll are getting a little rain,is it gona be in time or enough to save much of the wheat crop? I talked to a bullhauler at the Pilot in Shepherdsville the other day that said the crop looked rough.

Fueled in D-ville yesterday,$3.649. Cheapest i've bought in a month.

Had a random ''p test'',first time i have had one that i was'nt actually busy:biggrin_25513:. I swear, between the emptying all your pockets, leaving your hat and everything else in the dang 'lock-box'',i 'bout feel like a convicted criminal every time i get pulled for a test anymore:biggrin_25524:. Some of these ''tech's'' that do these test's try to make you feel like a piece of crap, any of ya'll ever feel that way,or did i just get a ''tech'' that was having a bad day:biggrin_25526:.

Ya'll have a good weekend,i'm gona go wash the truck/trailer so it can get muddy again next monday:biggrin_25513:. Tallest corn i've seen is 3 inches tall,it's gonabe a late harvest around here, that's for sure.
