$24,500,but it seems really sound. 2nd owner truck with all the paperwork and drives like a dream, steers are knee deep in tread and drives are 70%, 565,000 miles but the previous owner put 267,000 of those miles(showed me his BOL copies from Trane) on 'er pulling air-conditioners rarely ever over 14,000lbs with a 45x96 flat,so she's not been over-worked. American Greetings fleet out of Danville,Ky.was 1st owner and the guy has the maint. records from when he bought it from them. I just don't know much at all about the Spicer's. It has 3.90 rears . Dang thang does handle great!

Sounds like you might've found a good truck dairyman. I dont know anything about spicer transmissions either, I think every truck I've ever drove had a Fuller of one kind or another. My T-8 has 3.90's also. Works well for getting out of fields, esp since we changed the super 10 with a 13. Its a little low geared for 70 mph states, but for running around on 2lanes at 55 or 60, its about perfect.

i went from a fuller to a spicer, hated it, maybe it was just the truck. the fuller was much easier to drive.

That's the way with me too R.W.,all iv'e ever driven is a Fuller too. I have 3.90's in my Pete, and thats just about nails it. Good gett'n out and around feilds/farms with grain/feed/fert,and perfect for the 2 lane roads here in central Ky.,but a tad low for good mpg at 70mph. I am running right at 17-1750 rpm's at 70:biggrin_2554:

Congrats Big John, now let the 'paper-work' begin:biggrin_25521: UCR,driver qualification file,pre-employment ''test'' and interview:biggrin_25526:,and if you want that dinner i owe ya,KYU:biggrin_2559:.

That's kinda what i've been hearing from some of the local boys too, catfish. Not much good to say about the spicer's from them either. Thanks for the info.

Thanks, but I had to do all that test and paperwork already with my Intrastate Authority and the KYU that is funny. It may be awhile then before I can collect. I am planning a vacation back that way in 2012, going to show the wife where the family came from, the good Ole hill and coal country of eastern Kentucky.

Well, it's hot today and going to get hotter next week....harvest weather. Supposed to have 40 to 50 mph south winds tomorrow, good tarp hanging on for dear life weather.

The harvesters have been coming into town the last few days. A lot of them are parked out at the fairgrounds set up and ready. I even seen two guys had wheel polishing duty on the hopper trailers, I should have snuck mine in line. :biggrin_2559: The big harvester is in town Olsen Harvesting more new equipment and a fleet of late model red trucks and trailers. I would hate to see his payment books. :biggrin_25513: Looks like the wheat will be ready to cut here this week and maybe we will have some to haul, if not I may have to volunteer at the soup kitchen so I can eat. :biggrin_25523:
