Congrats also. Should be a good all around hopper for you.
Harvest is winding down and by end of week should be about done. I think we had too many trucks hauling but what else is new.

Well, my day is off to a good start. I'm waiting at Peterbilt to get a new driver's side windshield put in. I was south bound on K-4 between Topeka and Atchison last night at around 7:30 when a pickup full of kids going northbound threw a bottle or something at me a they passed by. Spidered the glass, and marred the paint on my cowl. Thankful it didn't come through the windshield, but mad as hell that the little pukes got away with it. This is the crap that happens when you don't get involved in your kids' raising, folks. They don't learn respect for others. I shudder to think what my pops would have done to me if I were to have pulled a stunt like this...

Glad you didn't get hurt it could have been a lot worse.
highside Thanks this. -
That stinks highside but glad it wasn't worse. Little punks like that need a good beatin!
highside Thanks this. -
Glad you didn't get hurt. I did some pretty stupid things as a kid but never would have dreamed of something that could have hurt someone like that.
highside Thanks this. -
Whats the deal with ADM. Just picked up my shinny hopper and they have some loads in the area and figured why not make a little money rather than DH home. Then the guy tells me that they should have me set-up by the end of the week. Told him I will be ready to roll this afternoon. Tells me he will rush it. So sitting here MT and check in to see if Im set-up or should head towards home. He tells me to sit tight and call him in the morning and he will check on it. Right.
I have never waited more than an hour to get approved with new broker/shipper and that one was that long because we had to wait for my insurance agent to get to the office. -
I'm not sure all I had to do was provide a cert of insurance and I believe a motor carrier number. Maybe it was a W-9 can remember been a while.

Well, after sending him a message saying if I did not have a firm load for tomorrow I was heading towards revenue he got me approved. Nothing to get rich on but unless I sit half the day getting unloaded it should be profitable.
Next week will be good. Have 30,000 bushels of corn from three fields that will be better than $3/mile - all miles - if I run legal. Can likely get an extra 100 bushels or more per load. -
Sorry to hear about your windshield highside, that bites.
Good luck with the new trailer Bill. Ought to have plenty of volume. If you're running near legal you can probably just put one pile of corn in front and one in back and save you from having to pull up 2 or 3 times like us guys with little trailers.
We got anywhere from 1 to 5 to 7 inches of rain around here last night. No wind to speak of, but a lot of bottom land was underwater today. The word going around was that some folks had to take a bass boat out to 3 anhydrous tanks and chain them to trees to keep them from floating away. I can't say how accurate that story is, but there's probably a kernel of truth to it.highside Thanks this. -
More rain coming in tonight so if they haven't floated away yet, they will.
