All right, ready for some rain now. Unfortunately the next 7 days are all supposed to be in the 100's. This summer is really reminding me of 1980, that was a hot wicked summer.

I have been running fairly hard last two weeks. This week will be an adjustment...going to colwich ethanol plant. I will get to sit in line for hours. Could have done something else but it didn't pay very good. Darn fuel hasn't dropped a lot here still $3.79.

It's down to $3.69 in southern Missouri and northern Oklahoma. Gasoline prices have already rebounded in the past week from a low of $3.32 to $3.59 with a few out of the way stations at $3.49. Diesel will probably follow back up to $4.00 again.

can an end dump trailer be just as productive as a hopper?

Hauling the same stuff, probably not. Hoppers are so much lighter that you'd be better off using one since you get paid by how much you can cram into it without being overweight. An end dump can't match that. Plus the weight the hydraulic system adds to the truck.

You won't find anyone hauling gravel or asphalt, etc in a hopper though. It'd just destroy it. Each one has a specialized purpose. Best to stick with it.

Hopefully diesel doesn't go up for awhile. Grain companies are off the harvest rates and back to ho hum rates. They must think diesel is really cheap by what they are offering.

No rain yet here WH, 107 here today. I have been paying $3.55 a gallon but the station is a little tough to get into with a trailer and it has a small hose but long enough to reach to the other side. American owned mom and pope place and she has cheaper prices and likes to bring in traffic, plus she takes a check. Their is about six of us big riggers that make it our regular fuel stop. She has been .09 to .12 cents cheaper a gallon then the other places. You won't find dragons, swords, incense, fake Nascar jackets and smokin devices sold here, lol.
