I would think W-2's would provide some proof you were employed by them but guess it wouldn't say you drove for them. Copies of checks from them or load papers might help.
I've had a few places close on me and I've never had a problem with verification. Places have told me that they couldn't get a hold of a place I listed, even an open one, but they hire me anyway.
Like WH said use your W-2'S and this is one reason you always hang on to your log books. Another thing you can do is hunt down your dispatcher, safety man etc... and see if they will put on paper that you drove for them, how long and what you did. I had to do this many years ago once I heard they were selling out to another company I got in contact with the office and they mailed me a letter verifying I worked there, dates and what I did. Good Luck!
Hello fellow hopper bottom'ers. I am new around here, but, enjoy reading what you guys have to say. I found the site because I am bored out of my mind, and can't find anywhere to go. All this truck talk makes me want to go do something though.
Got to haul lentils yesterday instead of gravel for the first time since late June! But it was back to gravel today... Oh well...it was actually all on the same road, so it wasn't much different, but it was a different tractor/trailer, so it made it more exciting at least for a little while! It was actually a tractor that I don't really like...hate the transmission...but it was actually a much smoother ride than my normal tractor. Hauled lentils with a Freightliner Columbia...normally drive a Kenworth.
Yes, that is correct. I think I have put about 800 miles on my truck in the past month. Things are slow, and no one wants to pay anything.
They are a legume....pulse plant...basically the same as peas except they are more flat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lentil
