Here on bushel rates if you get detained too long the will average out what you are hauling and pay detention. I'm not sure if ADM passes the whole rate to the farmer or not but all contract drivers here are on hourly. I just think the guy directing was a bit clueless plus wanting to mix some dry and wet corn.

Where are you at in Central IL.

I talked to a farmer at moundridge today. He said his beans made 4 bushel to the acre. They plowed all 300 acres of milo under and are hoping they can get the wheat to come up. Its looking rough for the hoppers in our area this winter. He said his irragated corn only made 100 to 140 bu. barely breaking even on the water bill. He was pretty down hes been farming sense 1977 and its his worst year on record. Crop Jocky

You guys getting rain in Kansas? It started raining here before noon and hasn't stopped yet. They are calling for rain tomorrow and Monday. Thank God it finally showed up.

Big John,is it just the land-scape thats harder on your truck? I've never done any of the belly dump work, just watched a few on you-tube but can't tell much from the videos.

Yup. It was raining all the way from the Texas border to Newton. Good thing too, my truck was dirty (still is).

So far we have gotten .64 and there are still showers around. It's nice to see after being so dry.

No thanks, I'm not giving up on this year quite yet, and I don't think I can bear the thought of renting it out and the possibility of having it brought back dinged up. If I decide to sell it next year I'll list it in the classified section here.

    Over in western IL, Rushville.

That is the plan. Towards the end have a couple weeks coming from IN into IL. Most of these guys are intrastate only so that works for me.

Same here, people finishing beans and the percentages are dropping. Did a couple loads of beans last week in the 8 and 9%. You are leaving a lot in the fields at those levels.

But they have no problem having you wait on them. And unless your elevator is very slow he has not done the math on the going hourly vs. bushel rate. Here the hourly is a better deal for the farmer and less risk for the driver. Got a message this morning if the time on the inbound and outbound time is more than 30-mins they don't charge that extra time to the farmer.

Well glad I got bumped up the list on the hourly before it gets busy. Not getting the call on corn at the other elevator that pays by the bushel.

Hear ya on that. You can be the safest driver in the world and can't keep that auger wagon from bumping you.

PM me with contact info if you want to work this week. As of last night they needed trucks for Monday and Tuesday.
