Pretty slow here. They really didn't have a very big harvest either summer or fall. Supposed to maybe have rain tonight strange for December.

Yep,it's slow'in down around here too. Funny you mentioned the Dec. weather,it is crazy ain't it,my wife said she actually turned on the air-conditioner today while she was cleaning the house, and i drove home from Owensboro today with the dang windows rolled down:biggrin_25513:,me and Molly were both burning up:biggrin_2559:. Kinda makes me nervous with all this warm weather in the middle of Dec. though,i wonder what's coming in behind it?:biggrin_25524:

Welcome CP137. I used to haul a little flyash to some bigger dairy farms when i had my frameless dump, that dang stuff was tuff on clean tee-shirts :biggrin_25525:

    Opinions please....

I am a company driver pulling an end-dump, and need your feedback. I was think about buying a truck and leasing it on to this same company, now here's the twist, I want to hire a driver(my dad). I would like to keep driving the company truck and let him drive the owned truck.

    Think this works?

My reasoning is simple, I like cash flow, and know I can turn more this way then I would driving the truck myself. I have the mentality that I can pay someone to do a job and do something else myself so we both make money. I used to hire guys to do slow odd jobs so I could make the fast cash on easy jobs.

It might work. I can't say I have seen many do this but who knows.

Well I have a growing family, im 27 with a wife 3i girls and one on the way. So if I keep my regular driving job I have income.

I know a guy who owns a bull wagon and he never drives it and pays his driver about $50k a yr and profits about 25-30k and never steps in the truck.

Makes sense to keep your job but are you going to have enough time to manage the other truck? Like Bigray said accurate facts and figures will tell you if it makes sense.
