Wheathauler, hows the winter crop looking in your neck of the woods? Farmers that i have been hauling for have been top-dressing N early, but the stuff i've been seeing is still pale in color,i think all the extra rain in Nov.,Dec. has leached the N out around here. Just curious how it's looking in your neck of the woods.
Still kinda slow here, but it's par for the course this time of year. Been hauling a little Jan.corn with a load or 2/week of meal and hulls, but that's about it.
Hope everyone's doing ok out there,be safe folks.

Wheat looks good for now. Hopefully we get some rain this spring and have a good harvest. Most have top dressed already...at least the meal and hulls is keeping you a little busy, more than I can say.
dairyman Thanks this. -
WH,you ever get in or around Moline/Elk Falls area? My cousin hunted deer right off of 160 last month, and wants me to go back out there next year with him.How far are ya from there?

Anybody heard from cowdoc lately?
-
Haven't heard from him in a long time. Keeping busy dairyman? May have some beans to haul next week if the rate is right. Getting dry here could use some rain.
-
Yeah,i hope he's doing ok,i always enjoyed reading his posts about the rice production.I talked to a feller unloading cottonseed meal at a local feed mill i haul soyhulls into the other day that said he was from cowdoc's neck of the woods and got to thinking i hadn't seen him on here for a while.
Maybe the rates will be where you need 'em next week WH,report back in if you get to haul some,it's gett'n purty quiet around here lately, the dang crickets are taking over our little thread -
Yep, threads been quite. I'm sure highside and Big John have been busy but it's been dead here. I was quoted a load that paid 14 cents for a 85 mile load one way, I declined.

Hi Dairyman. Riceland job is going well. We're getting a lot of dry rice in so it's been real steady. Grading can get monotonous but I'm a creature of routine so it doesn't really bother me. One thing that has surprised me is how much stuff the farm drivers run over around here and tear up. For those of you familiar with Riceland the inside scales have been hit at least 4 times in the last 3 weeks. Casualty count so far is 3 tires, 1 wheel, and 1 damaged back hopper trap. A guy also hit the restraining pipewall at the Parboil NG line and knocked both axles out from under his trailer. Winter here has been wet and mild. I do have a standing offer to return to my old driving job so at least that's some security.
dairyman Thanks this.
