Back to the ethanol plant next week. Getting rid of the corn before wheat harvest starts. They have also been hauling beans fairly steady.

WH,are you starting to see any out-of-state hoppers lurking around yet?
Doc,how's the crops looking in your neck of the woods? RW said the corn looked purty good in central IL,and corn and beans are looking good here.Farmers i haul for are nervous about the price drop in corn this week, though.
One of the larger farmers i have hauled for in the past went out and bought 2 new hoppers last month, and he was squirming a tad today, said he had already went thru 3 drivers with 2 of his drivers getting speeding tickets and the other one backed into the door of his new tool shed, tore the tarp handle off and poked a hole thru his new over-head door.He was not a happy camper,to say the least
.
Ya'll have a good weekend. -

To further elaborate on the out of state truckers coming to Hutch. We have ADM, Cargill, TMA as primary grain merchandisers. They all hire out of state truckers to work wheat harvest...mostly because the locals couldn't haul all the wheat being cut. I don't know the total they bring but one year Cargill, who I usually pull for, brought up over a hundred. Many of these trucks follow the harvest from Texas to Montana. They are usually only here a week or two depending on weather.

Kansas guys, I need your help. I got a problem and im just about to the end of my rope on this deal. This is going to be long, so bare with me please.
Im switching companies as a leased on O/O, and am having a devil of a time figuring out what to do with for a Tag/Title
The new company requested a copy of my truck title. But, all I have is a copy of the original Iowa title with the two previous owners listed on the front. My name is show only on the back where it was signed over to me. This is totally normal.
Shortly after purchasing the truck, I took the title down to the Sedgwick Co Tag Office, and applied for a tag when I first bought the truck in 09'. I was issued a KS. tag, along with Regstration/Etitle. They keep the original Iowa title, and file it in their E-sytem with a lean since I bought the truck with loan money. I went to work grain hauling with this same tag on my truck. No IRP tag required.
Later on I hired onto a different company that is 48 state apportioned. So I needed an apportioned tag. I gave my new boss a copy of the Etitle/Registration, he procured a KS. apportioned permanent tag, no problem with my paperwork.
Here is the problem.
The new company uses IL based IRP apportioned tags...
KS apportioned registration only shows the VIN number of my truck, and no where on it does it show my actual name as the owner. Only my previous company name and address are listed. I can Not use it as proof of ownership.
IL will not accept the IRP registration as proof as ownership. Nor will they accept a copy of the original Iowa title since it doesnt show my name on front, only the back. KS will NOT issue me a copy of the title to provide as proof as ownership. The company I purchased the truck from is in MO. and they dont have a copy of the title either. Only thing they have is a note saying they own the lean on my truck.
Sedgwick county says I can purchase an inTRAstate tag for more than a thousand dollars, and then ill have current Registration/Etitle, which I can then take to Illinois and pay another two grand to buy one of their tags. What a total waste of money!
Anybody know the correct way to do this? For the past week all I have managed to do is waste endless hours talking to the DMV about this. Every solution they've given me is a dead end.
I have applied to two separate trucking companies, and both have the exact same thing. They need an actual copy of the title with my name and address showing me as the owner.
The only solution I have found thats even close is, KS has a form that I can fill out "if" I was moving to another state, they will then send the new state a copy of the title. But, thats only if I have a new adress they can verify, which I do not. Plus the fact it would take another month to get done. Im running out of time and money on this deal.
Its seems like the only truly viable option for me is to find a job as a company driver for the next 6 mnths until my truck is paid off. Then theyll mail me a new copy of the title.
Any ideas? -
That's odd. On other vehicle titles they will give you a new title with your name on the front and the lien holder's name under it. I had no idea they were so asinine with trucks. That would make me real nervous not knowing where the only real proof of ownership was.
If nothing else works you could use my address in Missouri, but then what? Will this state pull the same thing? -
Seems to me you should have had the title in your name when you took the paperwork in after buying it. The lien holders are listed on the title along with your name. However I'm not that experienced with E titles. Paying a lawyer might be worth it to clean up the mess.
-
You only get the title back once the lean is released.
Seems a little on the insane side dont it? Im hoping I am misunderstanding part of this, and there is an actual way to do so. But, so far I havent had any luck. Thats why im asking here... -
I guess Ill have to pony up the cash and pay Ks for the new tag/registration. I can then throw the actual plate in the trash, and fax the paperwork to my new employerIts either that or go work as a company guy for the next six months, or until I can get the truck paid off.
To add to the headache of all of this. Kansas has a typo on my snail mail address. Ive asked five people at the DMV to fix it, and they all say they need the ####### title to fix itSo...... by some miracle if I do get it fixed, itll get sent to the wrong address. [Bang Head Here]
