They are Tox-o-Wic batch dryers. This guy loads them up out of his bin during the evening then we take a load out of them during the day. Can't get a truck to some of his bins.

I am lookin into buying a truck, I want to use it mainly for hauling heavy hoppers, sand, grain, powder, dirt, etc. but must be 5mpg yet light, roomy, and light enough to be used long haul too. I was told 500 horsepower minimum and midroof sleeper, no WESTERN STARS no Petes after 2008, any other suggestions?
-
Ok, I'll bite. Why no Stars? Why just midroof? What's "too heavy"????MJ1657 Thanks this.

Have had too many probs with Westerns, company has two and two owner ops also.... thats 4 westerns different years and specs and tear down faster that the others, mind you --- we do oil field deliveries. - midroof are roomier that the smaller ones, yet lighter than its upgrade and can still go under 13'6 low clearances. Truck and Hopper trailer shouldnt weight more than 32K/lbs on full tanks ( we usually load 45K-47K of sand, sometimes 51k) and should have a minimum of 373 (or 3.73 maybe) ratio.... New Pete's and Internationals are breaking down too quickly. So looks like either a Kenworth 2007, a 1998-2001 Pete or a brand new Mack. Thanks, anwering those questions has helped me make better sense of whatam trying to figure out. thanxuuu

Probably would go for older pete. However if tearing up western stars not sure anything will make it. Never driven one but supposedly are tough trucks but heavy.
wore out Thanks this. -
how did you include advertisements along with your reply? i would like to show ads on my replies, too. Or is that something Truckers Report does automatically?
-
Advertisements????

Yea, advertisements.... Maybe it's my computer and has nothin to do with TruckersReport. Kinda like the Facebook ads. Anyhow, going back to the forums title, am getting anxy about life, finances, old age, etc..... so, I kinda wanta become an owner op. I know it wont be easy, lots of paperwork, etc. but I figure If I do it right, I could probably retire in 7 years. That's if I can actually take home $51,000 to $64,000 after truck expenses, taxes and regular deductions.( All I want is a Paid-Off 1 acre / functional home within an hours drive from a major metro and a paid off brand new car the day the home gets paid off)knuckledragger Thanks this.
