Just hauled my first loads of corn out of the fields yesterday, my weekend/part time gig. The weather this fall has everyone way behind. It was a day of really easy work. About a half mile from the field to the elevator, so I didn't even have to tarp. They had guys unloading so I didn't have to get out. Just drove in a circle all day and enjoyed the nice fall day.

    MJ1657 and wheathauler Thank this.

Hopper work has been slow around home. Low prices and marginal yields didn't help.

Interesting. I've been transferring now for at least two months now. Course we have had very good yields. Wheat harvest was bad but fall harvest making up for it.

Just wanted to say Hi. I am fairly new at driving and am hauling out of Neligh, NE. Things are so cold and it seems as if I am home more than on the road. Hopefully the sun will come out and warm things up.

I'm back to pulling a cow wagon for just a short bit, I'm sure many here already know this but Kansas City seems to be the hub for hopper freight right now. It's mostly chicken by of some kind but we are glad to have it this time of year

Milo seems to be the grain that's moving around here.

I'm mostly hauling modified distillers out of central nebraska to farmers down in kansas in a frameless end dump nowadays. It's a pretty good gig, the farmers aren't even there when you deliver for the most part so I just unload and leave the paperwork in the mailbox. No tight schedules, hardly ever a line to wait in to load, and for the most part just one load a day.

Does sound like a good setup. I never really thought about hauling distillers to farmers usually around here it just goes to feedlots. Course there are some big farmers these days and have better equipment than some elevators. Actually now that I think about it some farmers hauled the wet for themselves.
