As a company driver you get to ask if they will fix it. Sometimes yes and sometimes no it can wait.

Then it breaks and you get a mini vacation in a flea bag motel in the middle of nowhere and no internet.

You said you've got a Timpte didn't you? What kind of doors does it have? Both our Wilson's have the roller traps with aluminum doors. The '02's doors have got a notch worn where it rests on the rollers when closed. Takes a little more "pull" to get them to open, but after you get it off that spot its fine. I think the '09 has an extra strip of aluminum over the rollers that is riveted on, probably for that very reason.

Yes, I have a 2003 Timpte. Has the small rollers on it. It wears on the top of the traps where the rollers are... Not real deep but is getting there. Opens fine but may need to be fine tuned. Actually the grooves run the entrie length of trap...Worn around where the hole is in hopper. Might just be wearing because of rough roads etc.

Guess you're right. Least I know my truck is DOT ready. Don't have to fight anybody to get something fixed...just myself.

Really, that's only about 40 miles from me. There's not much at chase. Is he hauling fertlizer there?

You should be in good shape. New motor and tranny is the way to start out...makes life easier.

Wasn't he going on that 1600 mile deadhead on Monday? He may have already left to go to ND I think that's where he was starting out. Man, I would be getting somewhat depressed starting out for that load.
