I would say you were lucky getting something out of there. They do ship quite a bit of feed salt.

    Pharm

Actually your deadheading worked out this time. You were going to get trailer in NE anyway so ND wasn't too far. Trying to be positive about this.

    PharmPhail Thanks this.

Thats what we thought too. We figured he'd have to go to KS City or Ok, to get another load. But salt this time of year doesn't pay worth a hoot. Pretty cheap compared to winter rates.

Interesting, I didn't figure the time of year mattered on salt.

Paid 2.63 for diesel last night. This keeps up with low rates may have to quit trucking until diesel comes down. They sure don't want to raise the rates to cover it.

Put new fifth wheel plate on today. Seems to help, at least no blackslap when moving forward. Also seems to ride a little better.

Around $970 for plate, labor, bushings and other etc. Would have cost 480 for rebuild kit, three or four hours labor. Figured new was better.:yes2557:

Thanks, think it will pay off in long run. I don't think my old fifth wheel could pass a DOT inspection.
