Hello all. I'm back. Long day hauling corn. They're checking us hard for aflatoxin. If they pull you out it's about a 20 minute wait. I've been OK but alot of rejected redirected loads. Mrs. Bullhaulerswife I would assume he was hauling rice out of Riceland's Jonesboro plant. 15 incoming pits plus outgoing white, brown, and parboiled rice makes for alot of hopper traffic. I'm always seeing new guys. I would assume he was hauling stained rice or burnt rough rice if it was going for dogfood. I haul rough inbound. Nice folks I like hauling there.
RW I haven't noticed or heard of rough rice being hard on alum. hoppers. That's all we've got. This new hybrid rice does itch like milo and real sharp fines feel like knives if you get em in your eye. Gotta try to stay upwind when loading.
This is a great thread. I like hearing from other hopper draggers.

Definitions of aflatoxin on the Web:
    • a potent carcinogen from the fungus Aspergillus; can be produced and stored for use as a bioweapon
    • Aflatoxins are toxic and among the most carcinogenic substances known.[1] After entering the body, aflatoxins are metabolized by the liver to a reactive intermediate,

WOW:biggrin_2555::biggrin_2555::biggrin_2555: No wonder they check for this .....

If I remember right it was brown rice he hauled in here. Its been a while. Skuttlebutt was that someone came in and cut the rate, and took over the account. Sucked too, because it brought him right back to the house. :biggrin_2553:

WH, what about these Intrastate permits that you have to have to haul Ks to KS loads? Another driver my hubby knows just called me about them.
