Yeah I know doesn't make much sense does it. Hard to figure last year would raise it....this year forget about it. Granted fuel not as high as last year but the rates weren't this low either.

Until they can't get trucks to haul it they aren't going to change it, fact of life. Would think some of these dummies would know they're losing their shirts.

Didn't even get any lousy offers today. Was back and forth trying to reconcile load numbers with the broker.. apparently he was doing some accounting and trying to figure out if he was paid on everything and sort out some errors.

I didn't really put out any pressure for a load though. Really wanted to get some bills paid and get even. Less stress on the road.

I've got an oversize military load that pays $3 and something on monday, but that won't fit in a hopper.

That's nice to hear a good story like that instead of all the negative ones we hear.

That reminds me of a few years ago when I hauled for a week into Staley at Decatur (Tate & Lyle now, I think). They had one pit that instead of weighing the trucks loaded and empty, it weighed the grain in the pit after you dumped it! So of course, you have to wait for the previous truck's grain to empty out, you talk about sssssslllllllllloooooooooooooowwwwwww. Have I mentioned I hate hauling into Decatur? Even if I already have, its worth a 2nd mention.

At least you can still run. And a fuel tank is probably still cheaper than a hood, grill, bumper, radiator...... could have been worse.

Sorry being negative tonight, grain merchant has me frustrated. They used to say well we know it's bad but maybe we could go up sometime. This guy just says not going up and silence on end of phone. Told him diesel up 30 cents since hauling from this elevator silence on end of phone. Basically haul it for that or get off the phone.

It went up to 2.69 last week here in town, had been 2.59 for a while. I filled up in Indiana last week for 2.45, but on the way back, it had gone up to 2.51.

I hear you WH. Hubby was first in line this morning, and they put three other trucks in front of him to load. To top it all off, he rolled out of there at 9:10 going to Cargill with the load 400mi. Well, we all know that Cargill doesn't believe in unloading after 2pm. So there he sits after 6 hours driving today. And he could have dumped and easily reloaded, if they at least would accept loads up to 4pm. :biggrin_25526:

We have a couple of pits like that in Hutch.
