Sorry guys I don't know if this is the right forum or not. Let me start with I was on here months ago with EGR problems and attempted to solve that finally yesterday. I talked with the local mechanics and bought a pdi air intake on the driver side and capped it like they said to do. I welded the egr valve shut and took the pipe that wraps around back to the intake all the way out ....gone! Just like they said. Well along the way tugging and twisting I broke the fuel pressure and oil pressure sensor' s. Didnt know it started the truck and turned off after I realized the EGR valve was not sealed right and smelled exhaust. So after replacing sensors and fixing exhaust leak at valve . My motor feels derated and weak??? . Did the sensors or my egr delete cause this? I did exactly what the mechanics said to do. But they didn't say break stuff whoops. Isx 2007 pete 379 . All stock.
Horsepower down!!!!

Has it been tuned now that you welded the valve close? Any check engine lights on?
-
Did you take it off the truck before it was welded shut?
-
Yes welded it shut. The egr is completely gone.

None of what you did will work properly unless the ECM knows that those changes were made. If you don't understand my statement, then you are in a world of trouble.
Hulld, Roberts450, magoo68 and 5 others Thank this. -
So the fuel pressure sensor behind timing actuators on drivers side was broke when I took the pipe from the egr off. Hooked up to computer showed code 449 . Fuel pressure high in fuel rail. Engine derate. New sensor and back under power. 2007 isx cm870. I am going back to mechanic and he is going to look at ecm see if everything is running smoothly horsepower wise. First trip out not bad. I can't keep up with my buddy(he has way more hp) on the passes and hills. I had 95,000 lbs and three passes . No overheat this time and rpm after getting more air is 100 less at 65mph.

Again. The engine ECM needs to "know" what changes that you made to the engine. The way that happens is (1) software programs called Insite or Calterm (2) someone who knows how to use them properly. This is the last post by me on your issue.
lwlevens Thanks this. -
Correct . The mechanic is going to hook up and make sure everything is okay. He is really good and really fair. Also talking about a transmission swap so he is hooking up get all the engine info and info off tranny. He told me how to delete that thing and said he will make sure it is right . Thanks for your help I am definitely not qualified to be a mechanic. Lol
