i was planing on buyying a truck aka kenworth/ freightliner/ volvo
i going to go west to east/ east to west
how much horsepower should i get the truck atleast? what about the torque
some one told me to atleast get 500 HP and atleast 1650 torque
others told me just get what big fleet companies use like 450 hp like swift and all??

Use to do it with a 430 Detroit at 1450 ft-lb, always thought it was plenty of power. Just depends on how much of a time constraint you may or may not be under.
Heck, a 350 hp would do it.
I also did it with a 565 hp Cummins. Certainly a lot more fun to drive but the truck weighed a lot more. -
i'd go 400 i dont care about having a dream truck but i dont want stress on the engine.

If you go Volvo, their D13 455HP synched with their I-Shift is all you'll need.

You got some solid-gold advice on that thread. According to your own post you're not even sure whether you're going to run local or cross-country, so it's a little hard to be more specific.
