A DRIVER cannot edit drive time. The company (safety dept at my company) can. However this does show up as edited.

In any event hope it all worked out for the op. I just told him how it works in the real world. But then again I have close to 30 years and stopped counting miles many years ago when I passed 1,000,000. So I might get away with doing it my way and the OP would not.

    :::Sigh:::

Go read the regs. Just because you have a screenshot of someone else being wrong doesn't mean anything.
    Here's the website.
    Personal Conveyance

No mention of laundry or shopping at all. Even then that does not allow the op to move to a truck stop under pc.
I've already explained why I would not try the restaurant defense.

Now that said, show me the regulation or guidance where you think you are correct. No, not someone else's intepretation but the actuall regs.

That's just it. Give advice. We all can use it and appreciate it.
Just don't say something is legal when it's not.

Heck even I told the op to do what he has to, just don't make a habit of it.

After following your link to the regs.
The very first sentence explains why one could use it to get to truck stop or rest area.

However neither the example of proper, or improper use. Covers the exact situation that has been discussed here all day. In fairness I could make a reasonable argument either way. But its bed time

Since it's my truck, I'll decide what is (or isn't) proper use of PC time...LoL
But, basically, my screen shot is accurate. You're allowed to use the truck for personal reasons if you're not under dispatch. If you are under a load, PC can only be used to get to the nearest reasonable parking space.

Except it says no such thing. I know you really, really want it to though. Now put yourself in the shoes of the LEO that will be handing out the ticket. Do you think he will agree that a truck stop 20 miles away is the same as going to a restaurant?
When there is likely a dozen in a 5 nile radius?

Don't know what log system you have, but if your 70 is gone, there is NO WAY you can have anything left to drive with.

Currently, PC cannot be used when loaded. That is part of the "hoped for" change the FMCSA is discussing for the next round of "exemptions" debate.
