The only time the minimum 7/8 hr SLEEPER is required us
    A: part of a split sleeper 2/3-7/8
    Or
B: if the truck is moving and the co-driver rides in the jump seat (upto 3hrs)

your 34 covers this... remember a 34 us the minimum... 100% legal for him to take a 34 then go to sleeper for 3hrs.. then drive.... his 34 + 3 (sb) = 37hr break....

When you get use to it you both can get a 34 with the truck stopped for only 24hrs

Thanks for sharing @pumpkinishere. We need to integrate that 4 hour full stop for quality sleep. Last week was our first week out and the driving bunk time was brutal.

    That system works perfectly.
Make the 4hrs at around 1am to 5am.
I tried that. Works amazing for both

Avoiding starting driver 2 clock by going OFF Duty NOT allowed by present regulations.
Edit: When he comes in the truck driver 2 had a 34 h reset. He can start to drive anytime he wants his 10h of duty are part of the 34h reset. From sleeper to ON Duty anytime.

Yes, we made this logging error on Day 1 - have since edited his time to SB out of home station. Thank you, @Another Canadian driver

You really do, it will make must better company in the truck helps drivers not be sleep deprived. I can sleep while my husband is driving the bumps and bridges wake me up but I can fall right back to sleep. My husband on the other hand has to be dog tired to sleep through but his problem is once he wakes up it’s hard for him to go back to sleep. We usually try to stop between 1 am and 3 am and both sleep for 4 hrs. I’m daytime driver husband is night time driver.
Welcome to the world of trucking, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. If we can help in anyways post here on TTR, you will find some really great people on here and not afraid to tell you like it is. Happy trucking to the both of you! Keep it out of the ditches. Lol.
