    Interesting read, I have no horse in this race but I'm enjoying the opinions on both sides. Whatever is decided is what I'll teach and hold my drivers accountable to.

    Truckdrivers are about the only people I know that complain about wanting to work more hours.

    what was wrong with the old rules,other than they were never enforced,but at least you could run when you felt good sleep when tired.

    I personally think the 14-hour clock needs to go bye-bye. Too many drivers feel 'pushed' by that clock to finish their runs, even if they could really use a quick nap to get their head straight after dealing with a bunch of traffic, or a hard load/unload, or are making the switch from daylight to nighttime driving. The 14-hour clock removes alot of the flexibility that OTR drivers need to stay productive.

    if you cant makea great living working 70 hrs a week you need to to find a new job.the problem is not the hrs its getting paid for the hrs you work or getting morepay per mile
