You can PC to the closest safe location. Assuming you are not ALLOWED to park at the shipper.

    gekko1323 Thanks this.

PC. Adverse driving specifically excludes shipper delays in the guidance, while PC specifically allows going to the closest safe spot (truck stop) if you are not allowed to park at the shipper/receiver.

gekko1323 and Wasted Thyme Thank this.

If you ran out of hours for traffic/road conditions continue under Adverse Driving. If you ran out of hours waiting, then drive under PC.

That's one reason I emphasize the allowed. He just said no place. Which I assumed meant close TS. But if he can park at the shipper. We both know PC is not valid.

    ZVar Thanks this.

Thank you. I'm at convention center here in Tucson. I reckon it's downtown. No parking in sight. I just hope the truckstops aren't full by the time I get out of here.

Tuscon truck stops don't fill up as fast as Phoenix, but they do fill up.

gekko1323 and Wasted Thyme Thank this.

What you should do is contact your carrier's safety dept and ask them. Unfortunately, the FMCSA is NEVER going to say it's OK to bust HOS regardless of the reason. So what they are doing is allowing a move PAY ATTENTION (to the (((closest))) safe place to park)! This does not mean you can drive 300 miles. It means you ONLY drive to the closest place to legally and safely stop. One more point! This is something as an OTR driver you are going to encounter from time to time. Make dang sure you notify your company ASAP! Make sure you know exactly what the company policy is. @brian991219 what say you!

As we can see in this thread there are different interpretations of the PC rules.
You can rest assured the DOT cops also have different interpretations, also companies have different interpretations.
Once I drove 180 miles home on PC and put SAFE HAVEN ,never heard anything about.
