Kicked off Wal Mart property? He must be a gem. Caught by a Cop singling out one truck that just happened to be HOS. When I smell something that fishy I add Mayo & relish. I don't debate with Nobody.
Maybe it's changed. Running that close on hours is not something I would recommend.

I usually just ask them how long will it take to unload, if they tell me more than what I have for available hours and they won't let me stay the night I tell em see ya in the morning, they get peeved when you tell them this especially since they need the load. But oh well off the lot I go and truckstop here I come. Works great yes dispatch complains when I was with a particular company but I told them take it up with the shipper or receiver and when the 2 of them can figure it out they can call me while I'm sitting at the truckstop, but again by time they figure it out it's too bad so sad see ya in the morning

It was at night, he was meeting a dot officer who what do you know, looks for trucks to inspect. Just his bad luck.

As far as the walmart property, it was a distribution center he was told to leave.

Since you called it in to your company they will not give you any COMPANY points through their safety system. Unfortunately it is at the DOT officers discretion if he wants to do anything about it. I would not worry as it does happen from time to time but please do not make it a habit and in the future try to stress to the customer that you gotta go.

As you were fully unloaded you had every LEGAL right to go on personal conveyance from the receiver to the truckstop. The key here is "fully unloaded". PC can be used at any time that you are not under a load.

yes ... happens often ... nothing you can do about it...

although ... you can move the truck 6/10 of a mile and not activate (meaning not let the system put you on line 3) ... I do this whenever possible ..

at 7/10 of a mile the system will automatically activate you ... putting you on line 3 ... so move the truck 6/10 of a mile ... stop the truck... shut the truck off ... count to 5 ... start it back up... move it another 6/10 of a mile and keep doing it until you get to a place to park ... it works ... believe me ... keeps you out of violations ...
