Here it is..... fell into a deal recently if i want it.......good solid 3 axle class 8 with a sleeper and a tag axle ...good miles etc truck has 24' bed and can carry 26k payload and was leased to Cheetah. Good price........owner can no longer pass physical.
I'm looking to work on Cheetah's rental equipment accounts ...by choice. This where they add extra power to the likes of Hertz, United, Sunstate etc when their stuff is too busy. It's random sure but the seller recomended I take the truck there and do this........
Lets have it...... whatcha think??? Cheetah ? Hotshot?? Rental deal??
Hot shot questions.....

-
Hey! What r u doing? checkin on me???? Uhm no opinion yet...... I keep my options open and this looks good on the surface.........you know who I work for and what I do so here's my thinking......
47000 lb plates....no 2290
10 mpg on the ECM
No overweight permit needed.
Newer truck
Good price , owner anxious
Thoughts?
Oh, full time too......gots a buyer for the dog..... -
Hee Hee...hey Chalupa..yes I do know your story and I talk to those boys running those smaller trucks...some are happy some are not. I have a friend that has 10 or so on with Acme, she's happy.
D.O.T go crazy over those trucks, they want to see your logs and to make sure you have an adequate sleeping birth...But as you know,it's a crap shoot for all of us between Houston and La.
As far as going full time...I wouldn't,but I WOULD get that great deal and put a driver in it and continue as you are....
-
Thought about that too BUT it begs an age old question.......What would it take to hire someone like me ???? I can't, I'm to expensive. Revenue would not be there.
Kill joy! LOL -
A Class 8 with 3 axles isn't a smaller truck .
No sleeper meeting specs is a nonissue as long as you don't log sleeper . You can log off duty in a nonmoving CMV . -
Ok ,I had a visual of the hotshotters in Houston,so Rick is right...that's what I get for not paying attention and relying on my "visual" of those pickups...
Ain't it the truth,as far as finding someone that would so the job as we would...ain't happening.
But like I said a friend has all her trucks full, and does real well. but she also runs her rear end off everyday.
if these storms would quit chasing me,I should be back in H town tomorrow.i out ran the OKC storm and now just heard another one is brewing on my way down!! Ugh -
It has a sleeper but she makes a good point.....hot shots are frequently targeted.
My former carrier belonged to a group of carriers whom had a state lobbyist and they had them push for increased inspections of hot shots........
The thinking being the hot shot destroys the rates because he has half the expenses of a class 8. Sounded like a bunch of kids whining to me......... -
Get me in touch with her if you don't mind. I'd like to chat with her....... I'm not tied to any one carrier....this one just happened to be suggested........
tks.... -
Ok ,will do..just shoot me a message,if I EVER get loaded,I'll be that way soooon.
Found a buyer for my motor home, and have to deal with that and put my truck in shop and
itll be time to leave again....ugh
