You know, honestly, I don't recall the last time it went into cleaning mode. It doesn't do it very often for sure. I remember getting a little concerned because it didn't do it for so long.

The truck will do a regen which burns up most of the soot in there but not all of it. You can take out the dpf and knock the rest of it out. Not sure of any better/easier ways of doing it. I know I need to.

Since the DPF replacement 6.4 F350: Bobtail 18-22. Empty trailer 13-16 loaded 8-13. These numbers will be on the lower end in city traffic, hills/passes. Higher end interstate/flat.

    I also have a 4.30 gear ratio and it is a 4x4.

How do you clean the DPF anyway?

I see most places taking it out and tapping it on the ground, then pressure washing through the honeycomb center. If it gets too bad you'll have to replace it like I did.

Most of these Hot Shot guys are telling me to get rid of my truck. Fox, if you where in my shoes, just starting out as a rookie, what would you do? What trailer would you buy? Start out with load boards? I can get the truck right, but it is the rest of the deal I am uncertain about.

It's very much circumstancial, the truck is fine once you figure out why it's getting such bad mileage and fix that problem, then you have the best truck you can get "without buying new" to take weight.
Your truck is the least of your problems, your trailer will all depend on what you want to haul. A 40' with hydraulic dovetail would be awesome. Trailer, also not a big problem.
You need customers, not brokers! That's like looking for a woman to have a long term relationship with who's married to someone else!
Best advise I could give you is build up a direct shipper customer base local to home, take their loads to where ever at a GOOD rate and use the loadboards to get home for your next customer.
It takes time but will pay you dividends in the long run.

    GearWarrant Thanks this.
