I'm leased on with hotshot logistics. Like all companies they have good and bad. I think it always depends on dispatcher you get. I have to admit I have a good dispatcher that cares. Couldn't say much about the other ones. If you have any questions pm with your number and I will call you. I really would like to get into oil field in Texas as I hear the pay is great

 

Such as? I live in Texas, have a 08 F-450 fully loaded, a brand new 40' GN with a 5' dove tail and I have no idea what to do with it here. I have not driven commercial since 2005 and everyone tells me to get lost when I call them. I have my own authority but where the Hell do you get good paying LTL loads. You sure do not find them on loadboards. I have had no luck finding anyone to hook me up with all this supposed oil field freight.

 

I'm no expert in this area but it might be advantageous to run some loads off the boards and make some connections with shippers and brokers that way. Things that I've read here is that the "better" loads are set up through connections that shippers/brokers have and never make it to the load boards.

The usual "business selling," techniques help as well, i.e., business cards to get your name in front of those people wouldn't hurt. Once you move something for someone (even if it's crappy pay), follow up with that person or company in a few days "Hi, just checking to see if you have anything else that you might be needing to get from your place to wherever...."
