Hotshot or Class A?

Navajo Express may still have a dedicated run from Atlanta,GA to Jackson,TN & return every day. Call a recruiter and ask. You will need cdl school for Class-A CDL though.

 

People run the open 7 days a week and barely get by, there's no part time owner operator.

As you can see,Chinatown is the only one really to ask here. Others will ask what you mean by Class A or Hotshot or just say their not sure it's legal to sleep in a truck.
Factors you have to consider with Hotshot,
1.Freight,where will you find it?
2. Which truck? The commercial Dodge etc trucks have Def and all that. Expensive as well.
3.With Hotshot, you'll still need a Class A for ratings of 26k or more,which is where the money is at.
4.Companies do offer sleeper berths or you can fabricate your own.

My plan is to be an O/O Class A with a company that gets freight,save and perhaps give Hotshot a try.
Im still reading and gathering all the info I can for my journey,and trust me,it aint from here.

 

I recommend you attend a cdl school, then hire on with a tanker company. Do that for at least a year before buying a truck. This way you get driving experience, make a decent paycheck, and insurance will be affordable because you have 12 mos. experience.

We are all aware Chinatown is a wealth of information and contributes a great deal to this forum but why insult others with decades of experience and knowledge?? Im on my third decade in trucking and people still refer to Class A as different meanings even hotshot is a term that covers a vast array in the trucking Industry. My question was to clarify what he meant so we could help him but he hasnt been back. Thankfully you showed up and clarified and knew all the answers to his questions.
