Your contract to drive for the company pays for the essentials; food & hotel. That's all figured in to the cdl program.
That's a good deal for the trucking company. As long as you fulfill the contract, the company is reimbursed for the training, food, lodging.
That's also a good deal for you; now you have a very good career ahead of you.

the company training you will require you to sign a loan document .
The company is loaning you the money for the motel and food and training .
The loan documents will state that if you work for the company for a. Certain length of time , usually 12 months , then the loan will be forgiven .
Or the loan will be forgiven so much a month .
not much different than if you put all your food and motel costs on your credit card and paid it off over the following year
As mentioned by someone else , if you’re pulling a 51 foot trailer , it’s very likely you’re supposed to have a CDL to do it .
Running over a curb is no big deal, unless it’s on the driving test .

If decide to go with Stevens just remember to stay as a company driver and fulfill your contract. Do not allow them to talk you into a truck lease!
