Not bragging but you're absolutely right.I have been told quite often im a good driver.I get the load there not take brks not lolly gag around. The 9 yrs as a solo otr driver I not once complained about my loads and where they were going, never gave dispatchers grief. They thought I was pleasant to work with.Ive always been a hard worker and what companies pay drivers is an insult to their intelligence. How the public treats us is is an insult, how shippers and receiver treats us is an insult. How the DOT and FMCSA treats us is an insult.I would like to know why.Drivers are the most valuable resource but do companies care, nope. What im seeing that employers are paying drivers for local work should be against the law.Now the better companies are picky but that's not stopping me from applying. My DAC csa and mvr won't stop any company from hiring me but my job history will.

I am now calling for a Nationwide Trucking strike on Dec 22, 2014 to address a few issues. This should be one of them. You can start PMing me with other issues and to volunteer to help spread the word.
pattyj Thanks this. -
With the war on HOS between the drivers. the public and FMCSA the pay issue has been brought to the attention of FMCSA a million times and they know that's one of the biggest concerns with drivers but they still continue to tighten the HOS to where its getting near impossible to make even a halfway decent living.Im done being nothing but cheap labor. If I have to sit till the right job comes along then that's what i'll do.
okiedokie and Wooly Rhino Thank this. -
The reason im looking for a part time driving job 40 to 50 hrs a week is because that's pretty much what local companies here pay anyway but ecspect you to work your full 14 hrs a day.Right now I haze zero motivation to drive just because of the pay.

Been working a local $20/hr gig. High stress(95ft truck over the mt.) & low pay. Just got a call $44/hr + bennies, utility driver. That's what I'm talking about!
pattyj Thanks this. -
Heck id settle for $20.00 an hr and here that's good money but unfortunately I can't find a company that'll hire me.Wish they would at least call me in for an interview.

As long as these low paying companies can find drivers that aren't overly concerned about what that job pays, employers won't worry too much about the pay.Wish that time would come where they can't find drivers.
