First off if the company is in operation 7 days you can drive 70 hours if it opreates 6 or less than you can drive 60 hours //// Lets say you are working for a company that allows you to drive 70 ok when you get to lets say 69 hours you must take a reset off which is 34hours than your clock will start fresh /// Then on a daily basis after you have driven your 11 hours you must take 10 hours off.. You may also wanna go to you tube and type in commercial vehicle log books or rules for hours of service they will come up with many videos that explain this whole process

I have been working on airplanes for a long time, money is great over here and tax free, but sometimes money is not everything.
I will be taking a big pay cut but if my wife drives that will make a big difference.
I will be 60 in a few months and ready for a change.

That all depends on you and how hard you wanna run.If you wanna be a trk stop hero you won't get many miles. But at a consistant pace you can get 600 miles a day easy but that's not going to happen every day of the week. You;ll have customers and then you play the hurry up and wait game, thats always fun.You could have a brk down which could cause no miles that day.You could be waiting for the next load after unloaded which could be an all day wait.If you think you're going to get good miles with a starter company, you better think again. They like to keep all otr drivers running about the same amt of miles.

As a solo driver for a "starter" company like Swift you will likely average a bit less than 400 miles per day if you run OTR of you are running 7 days a week. Target about 2500 miles per week solo. If you are team then with a lot of drop and hook loads you will average about 4000-4500 miles per week.

Working as a team with your significant other will be a good income. Work a couple years with a starter company and you can consider a wide range of options.
