Yes, under the current law, when you start your 14 hour clock (your done with your 10 hr break, pre-trip, and are pulling out of the truck stop on the drive line), you have 14 hours to get your work done, 11 which can be driving. With the exceptions listed above, once the 14 clock has started you can not shut it down....so what your point??

an 8 hour part of a split, stops the 14,
no ??? -
"With the exceptions listed above"
Yes, and that was one of the exceptions noted above, before you chimed in with your thoughts? and DragonTamerBrat expanded this discussion. So that was noted, again whats your point? -
My point........
stop posting incorrect info, such as you did in post # 4.
A driver has 24 hours per day to finish their work. Only drive time is limited.
Stating that nothing stops the 14 hour clock, is flat wrong. -
Done..........
-
All that information was qualified before you steped in with your comments. At this point all your doing is confusing new drivers and making vets laugh. I guess that was your point and thats.......FLAT WRONG as you say,

.....sits and watches,,,lol

Does an 8 hour split stop the 14? What happens when you don't couple it with a period greater thatn 2 hours and less than 10 hours?
-
it wouldn't be called split, would it !!
-
Isn't it called a "split" because you are splitting your 10 hour break?
