The 34 hour reset is an allowance, not a requirement. A driver "MAY" reset after 34, instead of waiting to get hours back on a rolling recap.

    Just a quick question,
if you are running teams, and using e-logs, and the e-log shows the wrong person on the driveline, who is in violation?

I'd think the person driving would be at fault.

Both would be in violation for not having duty status current but the driver would likely have a more serious violation of driving without a required break .

As in edit the e-logs that prevent log falsification ? The details involved in this "error" could be interesting .

    .

You can make corrections to your pen and ink entries on paper. Naawww! Let's admit it, you'd just tear the entire page out, and do it over. So what's the big deal with having a Logs Dept. or Safety make an elog edit - something that can't be altered by dispatchers OR drivers?

Who can correct what varies with each carrier . We had a dispatcher editing logs . That changed when too many drivers had their EOBR's "malfunction" and they'd go to paper logs .
